One of the leading managed marketplace services provider, Pentagon dominated at the eBay Motoring Awards, reflecting a successful 12 months in partnership with Volo.
The awards celebrate the most exciting sellers on the UK’s largest marketplace for the automotive aftermarket. Winners were recognised for their innovation, and their customer experience.
The winners reflected the strong market position held by Pentagon, a partner of Volo for 5+years. All but one of the firm’s clients took home the awards they were nominated for, including Euro Car Parts, who won the main award of the night, Aftermarket Parts & Accessories eBay Motors Store of the Year.
One of the biggest advances in online retail over the past 12 months has been click & collect, an innovation being celebrated by online sellers and the high street alike because of the resulting growth in multichannel shopping habits. Pentagon’s success, can be attributed to the integration of their renowned services with eSellerPro’s innovative features one of them being the click & collect system.
The UK’s leading motor parts distributor, Euro Car Parts was also nominated for the Innovative Seller of the Year Award. This nomination recognised the successful implementation of eBay’s click & collect programme in all of their branch stores, using eSellerPro’s system.
Rishi Chhaniara from Euro Car Parts commended the contribution click & collect had made to their recent success on eBay:
“In the last 6 months we have seen a dramatic increase in our sales on eBay, due to the rapid expansion of our inventory on the site and successful implementation of Click and Collect…We have a very close working relationship with Pentagon, and look forward over the next 12 months to leveraging their capabilities on marketplaces to push the Euro Car Parts brand even further.”
The eBay Motor Awards saw some of the world’s biggest names in the motor industry recognised for innovation in the sector, including BMW Group and Perrys Motor Sales Ltd.
Speaking about their success on the night, Volo partner Pentagon CEO Laurence Guy said, “I would like to thank everybody in our vehicle parts team. They work tirelessly to run these stores, and to win in both the Manufacturer and Retailer categories, demonstrates how nuanced their knowledge is of the sector and how versatile they are as a team.”
Volo was the first company to bring click & collect to the market, with eBay describing their innovative system as “making it simple” for retailers. This simplicity was at the core of the concept. In partnership with Pentagon, some of the world’s leading automotive brands adopted click and collect.
In addition, the company has worked with Pentagon clients to implement large-scale inventory roll outs through the use of upload/download tools, helping to make the sales process even more simple, and the customer experience more reactive.
eBay customers were invited to vote for winners in seven award categories, in return for entry into a prize draw to win £250 in PayPal vouchers.
